Salisbury Police Department Press Releases

On April 15, 2010 at approximately 9:30 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police were in District Court when they were approached by a witness to a pending criminal trial. The witness advised the officers that they had been approached and threatened by the defendant in the trial that they were to appear in. The officers located the suspect and took the suspect into custody.
ARRESTED: Shawn Dion Woodford, Jr., 18 years of age

On April 15, 2010 at approximately 12:15 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on two (2) outstanding arrest warrants received by Salisbury Officers. The first warrant was obtained by an officer after the suspect was identified as the suspect who assaulted two (2) female victims with a chain and padlock in August of 2009. The second warrant charges the suspect with threatening and assaulting witnesses to the first incident on April 6 of 2010.

On April 15, 2010 at approximately 7:00 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an arrest warrant obtained for the robbery of a sales associate at the Zales Jewelry Store at the Centre at Salisbury. The investigation of the incident revealed that in March of this year the associate at Zales was showing jewelry to the suspect for possible purchase. The suspect then took the jewelry from the associate’s hand and fled from the store. The officers were able to identify the suspect and obtained the warrant.

On the above date and time, Officers of the Salisbury Police and Maryland State Police responded to a residence on Pine Way to take the suspect into custody based upon the above warrant. The suspect was located in the attic of the residence and fought the officers as the officers attempted to take the suspect into custody. The suspect was eventually taken into custody and the stolen jewelry was recovered. The officers were also assisted by Deputies of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office during the altercation with the suspect.
