The owner of the car should get ticketed & towed, after the fire hose is removed, and shuold have to pay if there's any damage from broken glass to the fire hose. What an idiot.

As good as it would feel to do it; the firefighter will end up in deep crap because the damage wasn’t necessary. The driver is a jerk no doubt but it’s much more fun and more of inconveniences to park just close enough to block him in and make him wait on us while we fill his car with our exhaust. I do it to jerks in fire lanes all the time.

I have personally seen NYFD do this same thing to cars. Only their hoses leak alot more than this one is

i would say the damage was necessary to get that fire hose connected to that hydrant. that hose does not have flexibility in it enough to bend around or over the car..

the FD is covered for issues like that. no civil liablity when the FD does it. however if the hose could not get hook up in time b/c of the car and a person died then the liablity would on the vehicles owner
