Salisbury Police Department Press Releases


On January 12, 2010 at approximately 8:50 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Sears Department Store at the Centre at Salisbury for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised that store employees had observed the below listed suspect take clothing and jewelry items from the store without making payment. The property was recovered and returned to the store.

ARRESTED: Diana Elaine Griffin, 27 years of age
Pittsville, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (under $ 100)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On January 12, 2010 at approximately 10:50 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on the two hundred (200) block of Washington Street for the report of a domestic type assault. Upon arrival the officers met with an adult female victim who advised that she had been assaulted during a domestic argument.
The victim advised that as a result of the argument, the below listed suspect struck the victim in the facial area with his fists, then with a bottle. The victim had visible injuries and was transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment.

ARRESTED: Garry William Morris, 51 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Second degree assault (2 counts)
Reckless endangerment
Domestic related incident (2 counts)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On January 13, 2010 at approximately 12:15 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Sav-A-Lot food store on Cypress Street for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers met with store employees who advised the officers that the below listed suspect had been observed taking meat from the store without making payment. The suspect had left the store but was located by the officers several blocks away still in possession of the stolen meat. The meat was recovered and returned to the store.

ARRESTED: Karen Denise Holliday, 46 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (under $ 100)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On January 13, 2010 at approximately 8:59 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect for an assault that occurred on January 5, 2010. On that date the suspect responded to the Sports Zone store on North Salisbury Boulevard and became involved in an altercation with a female juvenile. The altercation resulted in the suspect striking the victim in the head area with her fists which contained a metal object.

ARRESTED: Juvenile, 17 years of age
Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: First degree assault
Second degree assault

DISPOSITION: Released to Juvenile Justice
