Brown Defeats Coakley In Mass. Race For Senate
BOSTON — In an epic upset in liberal Massachusetts, Republican Scott Brown rode a wave of voter anger to defeat Democrat Martha Coakley in a U.S. Senate election today that left President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul in doubt and marred the end of his first year in office.
The loss by the once-favored Coakley for the seat that the late Sen. Edward Kennedy held for nearly half a century signaled big political problems for the president’s party this fall when House, Senate and gubernatorial candidates are on the ballot nationwide.
More immediately, Brown will become the 41st Republican in the 100-member Senate, which could allow the GOP to block the president’s health care legislation and the rest of Obama’s agenda. Democrats needed Coakley to win for a 60th vote to thwart Republican filibusters.

YESSSSSSSS!
The start of a new era! Way to go Brown! Way to go Everyone!!!
Wonderful news! Consider the irony: A conservative Republican takes the "Kennedy Senate seat" and puts in jeopardy the health "reform" that Kennedy fought so hard for.
Now we'll have to wait and see how arrogant this President and Speaker of the House really are. Will they see the results of Massachusetts, the bastion of liberalism, where a Republican just won a Senate seat once held by a liberal Democratic icon for 46years as a repudiation of their failed leadership, ideology and policies, or will they ignore the obvious and shove the health care plan and cap and trade down our throats, and throw many of their more moderate party members on the sword, just so they can advance their misguided Progressive agenda?
You libs still think the tea partys are just a bunch of country hicks. You better think again, they are the real deal. The majority do not want this liberal garbage Obama is handing out.
I have had friends calling from Texas happy as we are in MD
Signed "the convert"
Now, what can we do to get Babs out of office and take ger seat? Vote all the career politicians out!

The first of many seats to be taken this year good bye Socialists !
I hope this wakes up the conservatives to DO more in this year's elections! See how arrogantly bold the Dems have become? Statewide and local elections count more than you realize!
