It is official, Fernando Guerrero's next fight will be August 29th at the Fitzgerald's Casino in Tunic MS. His opponent is Louis Turner 12-3 , with 8 kos. Turner hails from Chicago Ill. and is 28 years of age. He has 4 years of experience in the professional ranks, while Guerrero is 4 months shy of his second year as a pro. The bout is another good test against a solid fighter with a winning record. Guerrero is coming off a stunning second round KO of Brian Norman at the Wicomico Civic Center on June 20th. A bruised knuckle kept Guerrero from a scheduled bout on July 18th, but is close to 100% now with 4 weeks till the fight time. The fight will be available for viewing at prizefighttv.com

Why not reschedule the fight with Echols? That would have been a true test for Fernando and would garner attention from the true boxing fans. Personally, I feel that Fernando is the man but being a boxing fanatic I would love to see him get some bigger names and tougher opponents!
