(July 30) -- As President Obama struggles to get a health care reform plan through Congress, his poll numbers are looking more sickly.
Gallup finds Obama's approval rating has fallen three points in a week to 56 percent, the lowest of his presidency. Other surveys show similar results. And on health care specifically, skepticism is growing.
The only silver lining for Obama in the gloomy polls is that he's not getting the blame for everything. While the vast majority surveyed by The New York Times and CBS News say the economy is in bad shape, only 4 percent think it's Obama's fault. In the public's mind, the blame falls mostly on President George W. Bush and Wall Street.
The Washington Times notes that Obama often defends himself now by pointing to the previous administration. And Politics Daily's Jill Lawrence reports Democrats hope the anti-Bush sentiments carry over into the 2010 elections.

They were bound to come down as they were way too high to sustain. But its still much higher than Bush's approval ratings were.
Get back to us when it's at 29%, like W's.
Wow..56%...that's truly amazing considering the 24/7 bashing he's taken from the lunatics and bs merchants. Obama 2012.
You libs amaze me. At this point in his presidency Obamas numbers are lower than Bushs were. As a matter of fact they are lower than many other presidents at this same stage of their presidency. This is with all the major networks and newspapers propping him up. If he got the same press as Bush he would be in single digits. Face it you guys that elected this idiot screwed up and we as a country will pay for it for many years to come.
It's Bush's fault
