TROOPERS SEARCH FOR FAMILY OF CAPITAL BELTWAY FATALITY

(Forestville, MD) – Maryland state troopers are asking for the public’s help in locating relatives of a man who was killed last weekend while walking across the outer loop of the Capital Beltway in Prince George’s County.

The man was carrying no identification at the time he was struck. He was identified earlier this week through fingerprints as Jose´ David Sanchez, 36. He is described as a Hispanic male, who was 5’ 4” tall, weighed 150 pounds, and had brown eyes and black hair.

Sanchez was born in Honduras. He apparently had no fixed address in Maryland. Troopers have checked several locations in an attempt to contact any family, but the addresses have either been false, or no one there has heard of the victim.

Sanchez was struck while walking across the outer loop of I-495 at Temple Hills Road, shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2009. The investigation revealed Sanchez walked from the center median into the roadway and was struck in lane three. The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and was not charged.

Sanchez was taken to Southern Maryland Hospital. He was pronounced dead about 90 minutes after the crash occurred.

Troopers have developed information that Sanchez spent time in Montgomery County, as well as Prince George’s County. Other information about Sanchez, such as his occupation, is unknown. The information that is known has been sent to police departments throughout the area with a request for assistance in locating family.

Maryland state troopers at the Forestville Barracks are hoping to locate family to personally notify them of the death of Sanchez. Anyone who may be related to Sanchez or who has information about him is urged to contact troopers at the Forestville Barracks at 301-568-8101.
