The Fountain's Poker Event

The Eastern Shore Soccer Club 1st annual Texas Hold - Em Poker Tournament at the Fountains in Salisbury on Saturday, September 26th was a success. We had our first 9 person satellite table filled right at 4pm sharp, we ended up having 6-satellite tables before 5pm. We had 65 players register for our main event which started at 6pm.

We gave out $8100 in Cash Prize Money Paying out the last 9 players at the Final Table. The Final 3 chopping for $2000 each. Our Soccer Team raised over $2500 in registration, Silent Auction, and Donations. Thanks to all who participated. We had a lot of positive comments. We would like to do this event again please let us know any suggestions, or comments you might have to increase our attendance next time around. Enjoy the photos I have attached.

Tough? I assume you are referring to the fact that they held a Poker Tournament to raise money. In case you didn't know there is a Charity Poker Tournament held every Saturday within a 30 minute radius of Salisbury 52 weeks a year and has been that way since 2001. For my Fire company, during that time I'd say we raised over $100,000 extra dollars through those years. Poker players are very generous. There has never been an incident in which the law had to be called. These tournaments are a legal way to hold fund raisers, require little help to run and are regulated by their local jurisdiction via a gaming permit.
