On September 25, 2009 at approximately 1:25 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of Rt. 13 and Wilson St. and stopped a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect for traffic violations. A license check revealed that the suspect was driving on a suspended license. The suspect was arrested and a search of the vehicle incident to arrest revealed a quantity of suspected marijuana.

On September 25, 2009 at approximately 2:11 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding District Court arrest warrant. During a search of the suspect incident to arrest the officers found several bags of suspected “crack”/cocaine”.

On September 25, 2009 at approximately 3:24 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Walmart Department Store for the report of two (2) shoplifters. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised that the two (2) below listed suspects had been observed taking property from the store without making payment. The property was recovered and returned to the store.

On September 25, 2009 at approximately 5:51 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Walmart Department Store for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised that store employees had observed the below listed suspect take clothing from the store without making any attempt at payment. The clothing was recovered and returned to the store.

On September 26, 2009 at approximately 1:55 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of the Brew River parking lot on West Main St. and observed the below listed suspect involved in a physical altercation. The officers attempted to calm the suspect, to end the altercation, with negative results. A number of attempts to calm the suspect were unsuccessful and the suspect was ultimately arrested.

On September 27, 2009 at approximately 1:11 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to City Parking Lot # 10, located at the intersection of Rt. 13 and Calvert St., for the report of a subject exposing himself. Upon arrival the officers observed the below listed suspect and was advised by members of the public that the suspect had been urinating in trash cans, in full view of the public.

Glad to see the crackdown on noise and open containers---it is a serious quality of life issue for many of us.
You will never stop college kids from partying, it wont happen.
I'm glad these dangerous criminals are being rounded up. I'm sure thats going to make this city the safest in the country. Now they can start with the crack: addicts, prostitutes, and dealer, we see every day up and down Salisbury Blvd.

Let us not forget S.U. brings $386 million/yr to our local economy. Without it we would resemble every other struggling small town in the country.
I don't think that arresting people who violate the noise ordinance and open container laws is anti-SU. Just go ask the residents of Onley Road how they feel. These tax-paying home owners have the right to live in peace, it would be no different if it was SU students, people from Alabama, or Martians living there. SU is a great asset to this city and a great place to get an education. Part of education is learning how to be a good citizen.
Its a part of the mix thats for sure.
I hear SU is cracking down on the off campus student behavior by joining the City police in a mutual aid agreement, this gives the campus police authority to enforce laws off campus. I think it's a step in the right direction, let SU assist in arresting and charging the students with all the drinking and noise complaints and let the City police handle the real crime.
Noise ordinance is total BS. I have a neighboor that has called for the last 2 parties I have had. Now I am almost 30 and we are not stupid college students being crazy. All of my neighboors were invited and this is the only person who had a problem. If you are going to be a miserable person dont live near where young people congregate. 2 officers spent a total of 2 hours at my house. NO other crimes were being committed during that time period??? Really???? There are 'victims' on both sides of this story.

O good lord. Always a complaint! There are laws, whether we like them or not they need to be followed! Like it or not, the officers of any department are going to press charges on anyone who breaks the law, whether it a petty crime or major crime. There are officers dedicated to solving the murders and rapes and so on...they are called detectives. The detectives are not the ones issuing tickets for noise ordinances. get over it people!
the old salisbury would shrivel up without the college argument is getting old. sure you bring money to the city, but that doesn't give you the right to crap on it. the whole point here is... while noise and underage drinking are a problem, they are very clearly NOT Salisbury's biggest problem. it's just easier to bust up a party and chase the college kids around then it is to ride down church street and bust up the groups of thugs up to no good. it's very cowardly to pick on the easier target.

1:48: Do some homework. They only have a handful of officers working, just like the city police. Both departments are in need of hiring more officers to answer the need for a growing college and higher crime rates both on and off campus.
What bugs me is that they only seem to arrest college kids for noise violations and open container charges when we all know the locals do it too.Cars with vibrating bass speakers,kids congregated on corners passing a bottle-but only SU students get caught?
The attrition rate at SPD is bad. Few have stayed the for the whole contract. How many have left, been fired or been suspended this year? You cant keep people treating them like S***.

SU police needs to back off the college students. They are all power hungry and prey on college kids. They bust up parties then leave, then the kids walking home get robbed and they are no where to be found. Salisbury's crime rate is insane and it's time for a change!
First of all, it is true that Salisbury would be nothing without the college and the college students. In the summer and winter, Salisbury is dead - the college students are in Ocean City in the summer and in the winter, most go home for winter break. The college students pay tuition for the school (which has to pay the city outrageous prices for the land that it owns and builds on), are employed to serve the residents of Salisbury at different businesses, and even reach out to the community through different organizations such as sports teams, Greek life, etc. The Salisbury students do a lot of good for themselves and for the community, and they only thing that they do is get ridiculed. The police AND residents in Salisbury ARE out to get the students! For example, instead of arresting hookers on Rt. 13 and busting gangs and thugs for drugs, preventing crime and robberies, the cops would rather bust college students for their parties that are going to happen whether anyone likes the parties or not. Saying that college kids are not allowed to party and have a good time is hypocritical, because every educated person has been to college and partied. Its really simple - if you don't want loud noise, parties, and drinking, DON'T LIVE IN A COLLEGE TOWN! It's not rocket science. I also think that posting people's manes and offenses online violates their personal rights and privacy, of course people make mistakes, but you don't need to put them out there for strangers to see. This especially pisses me off because in 4-5 years from now employers are probably going to Google prospective employees names and this is going to pop up...that's ridiculous. I would like to end my comment by telling all of the uptight and power hungry police officers and residents of Salisbury to get a life and try to be productive...do something out of the ordinary for once and stay out of the college students business. Everyone was in the exact same place once, let them have their fun. YOU are the ones to chose to live in Salisbury.
