Update- Suspect Arrested On Child Sexual Abuse Charges

State Police are seeking the Public’s assistance in locating a registered sex offender who is wanted on new charges of sexual abuse

Location: Country Five Drive, Dover

Date of Occurrence: September 25, 2009

Suspect(s): John E. Brittingham, age 63, of Dover

Resume: Delaware State Police Detectives are investigating allegations of child sexual abuse. The female juvenile victim told investigators that the abuse began in September of 2005 and continued up until last month.

The victim’s mother took her daughter to Troop 3, after the juvenile confided in her mother about the sexual abuse. The juvenile was taken to the Child Advocacy Center for a formal interview. Troopers then attempted to make contact with the suspect at his residence.

The suspect fled his residence on Country Five Drive, before State Troopers arrived. The suspect is driving a 1992 Red Ford F150 with Delaware Registration Plates CL50247. Brittingham is driving with a revoked license.

Brittingham is already a registered sex offender, stemming from a conviction on charges of unlawful sexual contact on September 13, 2006.
