I'm glad for the people who work and volunteer there. The true unsung heroes in my book.

Would of thought that they would of done that years ago.

A lot of asbestos isn't friable or loose and therefore isn't harmful (some older floor tiles, old siding materials etc). It only becomes a danger when you start to demolish it or remove it and particles can become airborne. So I think that is why the notice has to be given, because by removing what ever item it is, there is a risk of airborne particles being let loose. I would be willing to bet they are replacing flooring in this case.

Why spend all this money on a place where everyone is going to die anyway? FUTURE DELMAR MAYOR AND COUNCILWOMAN

BackinBerlin.....That was a horrible comment and Joe I cannot believe you posted it joking or not.

There are people who are in long term care at Deers Head....They are not actively dying. And since you think dying is so funny....that is where Coastal Hospice at the Lake is located. Those people are actively dying and deserve more respect. They are battling for their lives and your joking about where they live! In very poor taste both of you.

People didnt know any better years ago about the potential dangers of asbestos so alot of older buildings contain it.

It was not meant as a joke. The post made earlier by the wanna-be Delmar politicians, was so insensitive that I wanted to keep it fresh in peoples minds. I know personally the benefit of Coastal Hospice by the Lake, do you? As for Joe putting my comment up, it was MY comment not Joe's, so if you find it offensive to YOU, be angry at ME. In the future, feel free to skip over any comments I make.
My opinion on living and dying goes like this. I don't believe there is such a thing as dying. We are all living. Living is a definite. Dying is a prediction. You cant define dying, you can only define death. You can define living and life. To those of you who say we start dying the day we are born, I am sorry for you. I started living, and will continue to live until I die.
