Are governor's treks with D.C. officials part of a larger plan?
Gov. Martin O'Malley stood beside Vice President Joseph Biden on Tuesday at a Philadelphia event to discuss police grants from the federal government.
The week before, O'Malley (D) and Education Secretary Arne Duncan were in Baltimore to release city test scores. And two weeks before that, O'Malley moderated a panel discussion on the swine flu in Washington that included Duncan, Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
For the governor from a little state safely in the Democratic fold, O'Malley is spending a lot of time hobnobbing with the Obama administration.

That "hobnobbing" gets money for the state.
There's a good chance sucking up for a new job in 2010. The Treasury would probably be an appropriate place.
