WASHINGTON - Frustrated with the pace of bipartisan talks, Democratic leaders on Monday promised to push a sweeping health care bill through the Senate whether they get Republican support or not.
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., the third-ranking Senate Democrat, raised the prospect of the leadership crafting a bill to Democratic specifications and using a rare legislative procedure to expedite legislation fulfilling President Barack Obama's top domestic priority.
"We will have contingencies in place. These plans will likely be considered as a last resort, but they are on the table," Schumer told reporters on a conference call. He declined to elaborate.

The Democrats do not need Republican support. The Republicans do not have enough votes to stop anything. This is a democrat bill, pure and simple. The reason it has not passed, is because of the uproar of the people of this country. The American people are voicing their opposition to this kind of reform.

No Chris. It's because the insurance companies paid $1.4 Million a day to lobby Congress to keep them from hurting their profits. Do you pay premiums for health care? Then you helped lobby Congress to protect insurance company profits over the health of middle class Americans. Remember that next time your claim gets denied or your coverage gets dropped.
There will be one stupid a$$ republican that will vote for it, and thenb the Dumbocrats will claim it's bipartisan.
I have to side with Chris on this one. We need to give ourselves credit and not give up the fight. There will be many articles printed between now and when congress goes back to session, mostly by the MSM who are bought and sold by politicians. Their messages will try to discourage any flack from we who hold to common sense and freedom. Stay the course, and write back. Let's see how many new ways we can suggest that this thing should go. I've written mine; Joe posted it around 10 this morning. Send your ideas to Frank. By the end of the month, Frank should have a good idea what to go back to the fight with.

5:27, I certainly hope my insurance company makes a profit. That way they can be there for me when I need them. The same way I want my company to make a profit so I am sure that I can be there for my customers in the future.
Would you rather the government reroute the profits they make to their pet programs and deny benefits to your Aunt Suzie?

This is first and foremost a bill to force everyone in this country to purchase health insurance. Pelosi is a prime example of a corrupt to the bone Democrat villifying the Insurance companies while takieng millions from them. The Insurance companies and politicians are the ones that will get rich rich rich while the poor average taxpayer will pay pay pay.
Why not force everyone to have health insurance so we can stop paying for the deadbeats who use the system and don't pay.

Rights need to go back to the states not the Feds. Less government leads to more individual prosperity! Dont forget that. Well there is one thing we know for sure:
Our Congress and President are going to do what is right for the American people. They are going to "go after" those big corporations who make health care expensive. They are going to stick it to the insurance companies, the AMA, the big corporations who own the hospitals, and big Pharma. They are looking out for us little guys.
There is no way the big powerful rich corporations are going to get their way!
Our government is taking care of us. Our Congress is tired of these big corporations giving them all that money and trying to buy influence. They aren't going to allow it any longer.

The only thing we can know for sure is that the corporations will "have it their way", while the rest of us flip the burgers.
