I used to drive by there daily, and there was always a group of adult enterntainers hanguing around the premises...Maybe that's why

I think anybody that lives in SBY knows that place is a hang out for hookers, drug dealers & drug users. They need to close it down...

I've been living here for 40 years and it always has been what it is now.

That's what the police should be doing, staying on that place like flies on dung.

This can't have anything to do with crime or prostitution because there is none of that in Salisbury, Right? Perhaps Webster was heading in for some "service." I think that he may heard a rumor that there was possible postitution in Salisbury and he was going "undercover" to find out for himself! Be careful Webster, your new wife may not approve of you bringing home your work!

On to the next Smutt hotel down the road. This should have been done a long time ago. That prostitute who was murdered could have been saved.

Let them all come live here, they dont care about our country.

Now where will the hookers and druggies go? 600 W. Railroad Avenue? Chesapeake Inn?

10:26 am * Unfortunately these type of arrest take time and planning , otherwise our court system may say we violated their rights !! I know it kinda stinks but that's how it is.Too many times an arrest is made only to be released on a misdemeaner.

Good work SPD!! It's got to be frustrating to try and do something about this kind of crap only to be legally tied with the courts, etc. Unfortunately, in a few weeks they will be right back doing the same thing.

you must be an idiot. in one sentence you are saying we need to bust more prostitutes and in the next you want to save them! let natural selection take its course.

It's about time!

Now it is up to the City Counsel to take the business license. Let's hope and pray they do their jobs and shut this place down. SPD did their job now everyone else needs to step up. Police can not do it by themselves.

why is every hotel in this town owned by a patel?

Anonymous said...

They are all named Patel. It has some meaning in thier country like entrepenuure or big bussinessman.

Spend some of that stimulous money Jim and turn this into a place for people who have lost their homes to use and live, in the transitional period they find themselves in. Help them get back on their feet a bit.

All the prostitutes moved to that area after they shut down the 3 storied building on the corner of East Isabella and Church. Since they didn't move too far in the first place lets guess where they will show up next. After all it is the worlds oldest profession. With the economy as bad as it is, it may get worse. Get them off the cocaine and heroin first. It's amazing what people will do for those addictive drugs.

What happens if the Patel's business license is pulled, will that shut down all their hotels?

Joe could you move all these comments up to the newest article?

Joe -

The "Patels" cover most of the Indians that run the convenience store and "motel" trades in this area. I've been dealing with them ever since they have emigrated to this area - the nature of my vocation. I've reported their shady business practices to the state for years, but since they are a minority the state will not touch them. This was told to me by an agent of the comptroller's office last year. They turn their eyes on their health violations and allow them to have slots in the back of their stores. They openly sell pornographic materials as well as drug paraphenalia. They know the "minority" atmosphere and abuse our system. I'd like you to do an investigative piece on them - it will blow your mind !
