Well, So Much For Watching Progress

It's amazing what a couple of days and one post can bring you. While Salisbury News has been keeping a close eye on the progress of the 6 foot tall pipe coming into the River, construction workers have now constructed a barrier in front of where the pipe is supposed to come out, (least impact I'll assume) but perhaps there's a good/better reason for spending this much time and money to create such a wall. Nevertheless, it is what it is I guess.

Ha Ha I hope this was a joke. They put the steel wall up to block the water so they can work. Do you see the pump in front of the porta potty. This is to pump the water out. The orange safety fence is to keep pedestrians out of the work area.

So no Joe they didn't put the wall up to block you from seeing them put in the sewer pipe which will now go directly to the river instead of going to the WWTP.

12:14, The pipe just carries stormwater off the streets, not sewage. It does, however, carry all the car and truck drippings, paper trash, lawn fertilizer runoff; everything that is in the street before and during a rain event, since filters would have cost about 5%more on the project.

Where is the mayor on this?

The "barrier" here is a huge box that goes to the bottom of the river. They'll pump the water out so that they can install the pipe. It's not really meant to obscure the view of the work; you can go within 50 feet of the construction site and watch from that side.
