Salisbury Police Department Press Releases


On May 22, 2009 at approximately 5:24 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department Community Action Team executed a search and seizure warrant at a residence on the three hundred (300) block of Barclay St. for possible CDS violations. Upon entry, the residence was occupied by the below listed suspects. The search of the residence resulted in the recovery of a quantity of suspected “crack”/cocaine, a quantity of firearm ammunition, and CDS related paraphernalia.

ARRESTED #1: Ashley Latoya Anderson, 20 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

ARRESTED #2: Carl (nmn) Anderson, 24 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

ARRESTED #3: Aaron Jeffrey Leggett, 22 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES (All): Possession of cocaine
Possession of CDS/Paraphernalia

DISPOSITION: All released to Central Booking

On May 22, 2009 at approximately 6:42 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department Community Action Team executed a search and seizure warrant at a residence on the one hundred (100) block of Marshall St. for possible CDS violations. Upon entry, the residence was occupied by the below listed suspect. The search of the residence resulted in the seizure of a quantity of suspected marijuana and related paraphernalia.

ARRESTED: Shemya Afran Singletary, 26 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Possession of marijuana
Possession of CDS/Paraphernalia

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On May 23, 2009 at approximately 2:02 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Food Lion Store on Tilghman Road for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers were advised by store personnel that the below listed suspect had taken food from the store without attempting to make payment. The food was recovered and returned to the store.

ARRESTED: Billie Jo Stephenson, 28 years of Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (under $ 500)

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On May 23, 2009 at approximately 11:54 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the one hundred (100) block of Washington Street for a suspect possibly in possession of CDS. Upon arrival the officers located the below listed suspect. The officers obtained consent to search the suspect’s vehicle and as a result located and recovered a quantity of suspected “crack”/cocaine and related paraphernalia.

On May 24, 2009 at approximately 1:35 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Brew River Restaurant for the report of a fight. Upon arrival the officers met with restaurant employees who advised that the below listed suspects had been involved in a fight on the grounds of the restaurant. Employees of the restaurant separated the suspects who then became loud and disorderly. Attempts by the responding officers to quiet the suspects were unsuccessful.

ARRESTED #2: Leslie Marie Dyson, 25 years of age Delmar, Delaware

On May 24, 2009 at approximately 8:17 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on the six hundred (600) block of W. Main St. for the report of a disorderly subject. Upon arrival the officers met with a female victim who advised that she had been involved in a domestic type argument with a family member. During the argument the below listed suspect produced a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the left hand.

ARRESTED: Michael Ray Spencer, 50 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Attempted second degree murder
First degree assault
Second degree assault
Reckless endangerment

On May 25, 2009 at approximately 11:08 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by the below listed suspects for traffic violations on Delaware Avenue. During the stop it was found that the operator of the vehicle, below listed suspect # 1, was operating with a suspended driving license. A check of the vehicle revealed a quantity of suspected powder cocaine.

ARRESTED #1: Donald Russell White, 43 years of age Seaford, Delaware

ARRESTED #2: Melvin Leon Brunson, 29 years of age Princess Anne, Maryland

CHARGES (Both): Possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
Possession of a narcotic with intent to distribute
Possession of cocaine
Possession of CDS/Paraphernalia

DISPOSITION: Both released to Central Booking

On May 26, 2009 at approximately 5:08 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department arrested the below listed suspect on an outstanding warrant obtained by Salisbury Detectives for the theft and forgery of a check. The investigation revealed that the suspect had stolen a check from the victim, then forged and passed the check at a local bank.

ARRESTED: Nikea Nicole Williams, 29 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft (over $ 500)

Forgery of private documents
Issue false documents
