Wireless Store Broken Into & Robbed Yesterday

"Hey Joe,

My wife and I were in the Verizon branch, I think its called Wireless Zone.

It's located on Rt. 50 in the Food Lion plaza across from Kmart. It was robbed yesterday around 2 am. 2 guys broke the glass door with one of those cigarette butt things they have outside then took 13 of their high dollars cell phones.

Funny thing is they have it on video and have been able to match it up with earlier footage. Apparently these two guys had come in earlier asking which phones work with the pay as you go mins. The city police told her this is the 3rd palce robbed like this but they are only ones with video.. Hasn't been released yet but thought you'd like the heads up. This is across from the Wendys that was just hit couple weeks ago. Last night when we left there was 3 sherrif cars in the parking lot at different
areas of lot."

Seems the crime rate over in this area is on the , dare I say it, rise... I'm sure those phones were useless once verizon kills the s/n #'s and renders them non-usable.

Hummmmm, Seems like SPD needs more officers..oh wait, they are quiting, getting fired and retiring. How many are going before this year is up? I say about 3 to 4 more.

I think Wireless Zone is in Fruitland, not sure of the name of the business near Wendy's. I could be wrong.

Its a verizon dealer but not one of their main stores. The owner is a really nice guy. He worked himself up the foodchain by hard work and now owns this chain of stores , I think he has 7 now, including the one in Seaford. Sad part is , he was robbed, phones are rendered useless by the network and they were probably just ditched in the trash. I hope they catch these guys.

It was burglarized not robbed. Burglary is breking into a place while robbery involves violent taking from an actual person.

For about twelve months now there have been numerous cell phone stores burglarized in Salisbury. CID cant catch a criminal working 8-4 monday through friday when the burglaries are every night!

This is a prime time for business owners to check their videos systems and make sure they are working and up to date. They are going to need them the next year. I upgraded mine as soon as a Salisbury cop toldme how many thefts have occured lately. Joe, you should ask the city how many burglaries & robberies they have had this year. You'd be amazed.
