Lewes – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating an armed robbery of the Happy Harry’s located at 1549 Savannah Road in Lewes. This morning at approximately 5:25 am, troopers were called to the store after it was reported a white male armed with a handgun robbed the pharmacist of a large amount of prescription medication.
Investigators learned the lone suspect, described as a white male, 5’09” to 5”11” with a stocky build, wearing navy blue sweatpants and a green hoodie, entered the store armed with a handgun. He immediately confronted a clerk pointed the weapon at her and went to the pharmacy area.
The suspect then pointed the weapon at the pharmacist and ordered them to take him to the safe in the pharmacy area. The pharmacist complied with the robber’s demands, opened the safe, and gave the culprit a large amount of Oxycontin, Percocet and Oxycodone pills. The robber then fled out the front door. None of the persons in the store was injured.
Detectives have obtained video surveillance of the crime and are in the process of reviewing it for evidentiary purposes. Once images are obtained, they will be released to the media.

Check patient records at Folashade's office. His drug addicts are desperate.
I'm not sure whether your post is intended to be sarcastic or serious, but this is a very valid statement. However, considering Dr. Folashade got busted, the area police have been cracking down on people who actually need legitimate prescriptions and are denied because the police are running wild with an investigation.
It's a very hard line, and you have to consider that people who need this medicine are not all addicts. Even though the drug itself is addicting, many people would rather live pain free and simply continue to take it - and I completely understand that. The problem arises when the police want to 'crack down' on prescription writing and real patients are denied because the real doctor's are too afraid of writing. I had a Doctor recently tell me about how local police are building lists of the Doctors who write controlled prescriptions for their patients. This can be a good investigation practice, but it will also deny legitimate pain sufferers any relief or care that they really need.
Fortunately I don't have a chronic pain problem, but I feel sorry for the people who do, and without any way of getting their problem treated, an honest and law-abiding person may end up going to the dark side and doing something like this. Severe pain can be a terrible burden, and it can drive us to do things we would probably never normally do for a chance at relief. I feel that this case isn't as simple as it might look - we should all consider that this goes a lot deeper than just this single robbery.
anonymous speaks in contradictions how can someone who has never experienced chronic physical pain say how it would drive an "otherwise normally behaving person" to do what they would otherwise never do? There are ALWAYS alternatives to what happened. surely this is a larger problem but anonymous should pontificate elsewhere.
