The Truth Is Coming Out

How can the Democrats continue to point the finger at Republicans when the Dems have been in control of the house and senate the whole time this housing bubble has come to a head. They simply cannot deny this:

They weren't in control of Congress for the 12 years preceding, when all of the regulations were relaxed and the SEC Chair (Cox) decided not to commit to true oversight of the financial sector.

You can try to blame this just on Democrats all you want, but it's the philosophy of Reaganomics (embraced by Republicans and moderate Democrats), with decreased regulation and oversight, at the core, that got us into this mess.

Dems and Republicans are both to blame. When will we start thinking as a country and not as a party? Stinks on both sides. Republicans blame Dems ,Dems blame Republicans. All the while We the People pay for their stupidity. After all it isn't their money they're wasting, while we struggle to pay our bills, they vote themselves pay raises, fly in bigger planes so they don't have to inconveniently stop to fuel, change their stories to fit what the headlines say, blame each other and spend us into eternal debt and say " don't worry we know how to spend your money better than you dear.... Give us our little tax rebate "cookie", including the "children" that didnt deserve one, rub our heads and put us to bed. It's time for us to WAKE UP!!!!!

Its shameful to see dems get a pass on everything they do and republicans hang for everything they do or dont do.
Reminds me of the congressman in Florida that got booted for having a homosexual relationship with the Paige. Then you got ol Barney Franks that was running, I mean did not know anything about the male prostitution ring being run out of his basement. He was applauded on the house floor.
The hypocrisy makes me sick to my stomach.

Reconciled,

Couldn't agree more: Both parties put us on this path. When Clinton signed Gramm-Leach-Bliley into law in 2000, that was a perfect example of a Republican Congress and Democratic President deregulating the financial sector.

Then, in 2007, when the bubble started bursting, and our government was ignoring it, that was a perfect example of a Democratic Congress and a Republican President colluding to allow this mess to continue.

Nationalize the banks, fix the toxic assets, break them up, and re-sell them on the open market. Reinstate the regulations that were relaxed, and give the SEC the teeth it needs to ENFORCE THE LAW.

The whole mess was created when the Republicans had the majority in congress. Deregulate was their constant mantra, all those rules getting in the way of progress.

Listen guys, government is the problem, not the answer. The government can not efficiently run anything, much less mortgage companies or health care.
Please name me one, just one, government program that has been successful and not many times more costly than the private sector can do the job?
When people get out there and start taking personal responsibility this country will be in a much better place.

Here's a sucessful government program....The US Military.

Bcuz of the gov't, banks were in danger of being in violation, fined, or sued for untold amounts in states of Illinois or anywhere a sympathetic jury could be found for Acorn to sue because of red-lining and other dastardly deeds that keep people who are not credit worthy from receiving loans for houses they can't afford. So now we should let the Gov't nationalize banks??? Anyone who thinks the gov't can fix this, please get in line to buy my bridge in Arizona, real cheap only $150,000 a head. ANYmouse

Congress know matter what, is a bunch of losers than con the gullible into thinking they are the ones that will save the world. No matter what party is in it depends on who an individual wants to blame. Nobody says that NAFTA was signed by Clinton. But everybody wants to blame NAFTA on Bush. Even the Unions pressed for Clinton to sign this and now they forgot they supported it and say how bad it is and blame it on Bush. Where is the common sense? This finacial mess we are in was because of a Bill that was drawn up by Democrats and pushed through by Democrats and Obama. This was just one of the campaign promises that Obama has broken. But all the biased media and the tunnel vision Liberals want to ignore this in their reporting and always push what he said he would do along the Liberal agenda. The bottom line and the most important question is why are they not representing all the people? Is that not why they were elected? Where is the common sense? I am not only speaking about the Federal Politians but the corrupt State Politians also.
Maryland the one Party State and now also the Sanctuary State.

11:59pm-I am 38 yrs old and putting everything I can into different retirement options bcuz there is no money in Soc Security right now and there will be none for me no matter how much they pry from my paycheck. I get a statement every year telling me how much I should get when I retire, but at the very front is the warning that this money is in dangers, that note has been there since 1998 (at least that's as far back as I remember it being there). There are people right now who never paid a dime into it that receive benefits, there are people on disability who receive it before they retire and depend on it. I will not ever see one dime and neither will my children. -ANYmouse
