On Oct. 31, the 19-year-old student told police she was sexually assaulted by a man inside his vehicle after he offered her a ride home that morning. He then dropped her off at a residence hall, according to investigators.
After looking through surveillance video and license plate records, officials were able to identify the vehicle.
University of Delaware police told UDaily they located the owner of the vehicle and determined it was regularly driven by another person. The suspect was then identified as Candido Tepoz, a 28-year-old man originally from Mexico currently living in the Newark, Delaware area.
