Jason Collins, who made news when he became the first openly gay man playing a major American team sport, implied that the reason he has not been signed by any NBA teams might have to do with the fact that he announced he was gay.
When asked whether he thought he hadn't been signed because of discrimination, he replied, "You don't want to speculate. I don't go there," but then added that he couldn't understand it because, "I feel there are players in the league right now that, quite frankly, I'm better than."
And he knows he has those willing to do battle for him; he asserted, "I do have that feeling now that I'm not alone in this and I have that mindset, you know, of bring it on."

Maybe he should call" bammy to the rescue".
That's not true! NBA has lot of openly gay players. He probably can't play.
I wouldn't sign him because he was gay, but I am sure he sucks and no pun intended.
NO FRUITCAKES IN THE LOCKER ROOM!!
They are free to hire whomever they please and not hire whomever they please.
If he was on my team I'd want a private shower with a lock on it to keep the perv from checking out my junk. Just saying.
No different than if I was allowed in the girls shower - I'd be staring all day.
Maybe he figures if he is gay (like anybody gives a crap) then he can scream discrimination of nobody hires him--I heard he is not a good player, so maybe that was how he figured he could "make" a team take him???
Let me see now , we have the race card , we have the gay card , we have the minority card , we have so many cards , I have the 7.62 card.
The don't ask don't tell approach is the best in the long run.Very few people these days understand the concept of consequences, but practically everything one does creates a degree of consequence somewhere, good or bad.Older gay males and females always knew about the low profile approach. The younger ones who call themselves "activists" have opened Pandora's Box by wanting complete acceptance. There is no such thing - for anyone period.
He was a quality player, about a decade ago. He wouldn't be signed if his track record stood up to the likes of Wilt Chamberlain(off the court). He was done well before his announcement.
This is the guy Obama called to congratulate for his courage of coming "out of the closet". Obama never once called the families of the Navy Seals that were killed in Benghazi for their courage. What a scumbag.

There is a lot of truth to your statement. Is there going to be a point in time when we have 4 locker rooms or just 1? A homo from both sexes gets to stare up and down their prey, but a straight guy or gal can't do that.
9:09 - would that be the 7.62 x 39 mm card?
6:06 Yeah! Only in curches, where they thrive!
Dearest Jason, teams aren't signing you because you suck. Sincerely, people with eyes.
And, come on, it's basketball... horrible.
12:31 I don't remember 9:09 adding the X 39 to his 7.62. If it helps you, mine is a 7.62 X 54.
if it isnt the race card, its the gay card. had nothing to do with his LOW stats right?
I would not hire a homosexual its just plain sick
