Thank God for the Salisbury farmin! Another day of great fire prevention, no fires at Giant, Subway, Chic Filet, Sonic. And no flat spots on the tires. We are truly blessed with such employees who risk their lives every day in traffic to go to the store. They even wear their florescent vests in the grocery store so other shoppers will not run their carts into them. True heroes of Delmarva.

It's Fire Prevention Month and the city is paying a lot of money in overtime to firefighters and a paid assistant chief. This is ridiculous because the job can be handled by the 3 to 4 paid crews on duty. Yes there are many times there is a 4th paid crew on duty and they staff the rescue truck or the tower truck. That's a fact Jack.

What! Overtime for fire prevention? What a joke!

Let me join . Get a room paid for by the city, free laundry facilities, cheap meals in a gourmet kitchen facility, pick my calls that I go on and I won't even charge the city that much for the pleasure of getting out the flat spots. Then again the city could step up and use the empty bunks to supplement the over burdened homeless shelters. Not much difference between a paid farmin and a homeless person. And they need a paid chief to hand out plastic helmets and a junior firefighter badges.Sign me up now!!!

Staff a rescue truck and a tower? Proper management would have them staff another ambulance or 2 to give the true SFD heroes, the ems providers, a break and provide prompt transport to the citizens of Salisbury. I am truly surprised that they are not blowing smoke by staffing the fireboat, which they think is a needed and vital part of the department. Joe, could post the salaries of the career employees of SFD including their overtime and let the readers know who gets a take home vehicle including those who do not live in the city limits of Salisbury?
Thanks, concerned taxpayer

Hey, Farmin! My work truck doesn't go out on calls every day. Could you guys send over about fifty bucks a week so I can at least run the flat spots off the tars a couple times a day?

You bring up some great points. I would love to see that extra personnel staff the other ambulances so we don't have to wait for Parsonsburg, Delmar, Hebron, Fruitland or Allen. Piss poor management in the fire department just like the city administrator. I would love to see a list of take home vehicles and see where they live and if they live in city limits.

Tom Stevenson, Rick Hoppes and Jim Liarton are the biggest frauds within the city of Salisbury.
