No I don't think they did and just like Katrina the government is not doing enough to help those in devastated areas. There are so many left homeless. So many without even food and water. It's sad in what is supposed to be such a great nation that people are just left hanging out there to fend for themselves.
My grandparents stocked up on can good for years and would always tell me you have to be prepared in case something happens beyond your control and you need food. Outside of my grandparents I only know one other family that does this, and both parents are retired military. Both my grandparents and that family have done this for years, not on the oncoming event of a storm. People need to realize you have to prepare yourself for the inevitable, because you're not always going to know when it will happen and furthermore no one else is going to help you.
No. As I mentioned in a previous comment. Look at all the 'red tape' already. They are doing a "preliminary" access. So when is the actual assessement to take place? People have to fill out an application just to get 'approved' to fill out another application.
I think they are both more worried about the election than the people they are suppose to be serving.
12:03 While I agree people should prepare. How do you prepare when what you stocked up on was in your house that you either can't go back to or there is no house to go back to?
I agree with you 12:03 to a point because I always have enough food on hand to eat for months-might not be what I want but it's food-LOL. Anyway another point made that sounds good in theory but alot of times the food is ruined in floods and no where to heat it up nor anywhere inside or warm to sit and eat it even. I do not support "hand outs" one bit but in a time like this it is a "hand up" we are giving and we must not ever lose this concept of a "hand up."
No where is Gov Chris Christi praising Obama 12:19, not yet anyway. Obama came and toured with the governor-that has been about it. As a matter of fact originally Christi was telling obama to stay away because a visit from him would be distracting and would tax NJ's already police departments, etc but Obama went anyway.
Christi didn't praise the Obama admin. That's the MSM's spin on it since Christi's popular in NJ and the residents affected are getting fed up. All Christi did in a nutshell was to thank obama for immediately declaring NJ a disaster area.
12:03. How do you prepare for your house blowing or washing away or even burning down. All your canned goods won't help you then. This is an emergency caused by a natural disaster. More needs to be done to help these family's. Again I'm going to say this. Have you gone to Crisfield to even help in your own backyard. Probably not. You are too busy sitting and judging all of these people in need by no fault of their own. Could happen to you. Then I hope someone sits in judgment of you. What happened to love thy neighbor.

I don't need to google anything and get the MSM's spin on it as I saw his supposed praise live on TV the other morning when he was on a morning show. He said something to the effect how great it was that Obama declared NJ a disaster area so quickly, thanked him and said he called him at midnight or something like that-and that was it. That is what came "straight from his mouth"-nothing more nothing less.
12:53 what you say happened 3 days ago. Christi was on a few of the morning shows saying obama was on top of things declaring NJ a disaster area right away and how he's been in touch with him and thanking him but for Obama to stay away as NJ officials do not have the time to contend with obama. Somehow this all got twisted into Christi praising obama. Google and watch the video's yourself. I'm sure they are available.
I have watched the videos. I understand your view of it, and agree the MSM went crazy with it. Perhaps praising is too strong of a word for your liking, but I would put it right there with thanking him.
Regardless, the question asked if he had responded fast enough, and the governor of the worst hit state said he did. Hard to disagree with him.
12:48, 12:12, 12:03 here. Where in my comment did I put someone down, because I didn't. I also didn't say anything about handouts. Case and point, when Isabel hit the shore years ago, the whole shore saw the worst flooding it had seen in years. I remember some of these same areas were flooded for weeks. I was without electric for six days. We survived with a battery operated radio, bread and some lunch meat in a cooler for the first 24 hours, and spam and canned veggies (keep a hand cranked can opener) for the next 5 days. Yes, life without electric was a little testing, but I rather enjoyed myself. It's strange how quiet things are when there is no electricity. The point I was making is that you have to prepare yourself for disasters. I be damned if I'd wait for any of the local authorities, or FEMA to save my life. I think their effectiveness got proven when Katrina hit the gulf region.

Not even close. Also, why isnt Maryland named a Federal Disaster ZOne when all the states around us are already on the list.
Considering the NJ Governor, who was hit the hardest, is praising Obama for his speedy and proactive help, then yea. He did great.

Yes, nuff said.
MSM may have run with it, but Christie absolutely praised Obama. He did/is doing a great job with it.

Outside of the photo ops, how have they responded?
