Clayton Man Arrested For Rape

• Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child

 

Arraigned at JP2 and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $1,700,000.00 secured bail.

Clayton, DE- Delaware State Police have charged a Clayton man with raping a girl over a six year period.

 

The incidents starting when the victim was only 9 years old, and the last reported occurrence happened in April of this year.  Jason M. Griffitts, 32 of Clayton, who was living with the victim’s mother, had, on numerous occasions, continuously sexually assaulted the young girl.  As the victim became older, the assaults occurred more frequently through the week and sometimes twice a day.  The victim came forward to disclose this information to detectives on October 18^th after informing family members about the unlawful acts with Griffitts.

 

Detectives arrested and charged Griffitts on Thursday November 1^st with 5 counts of Rape 1^st, 23 counts of Rape 2^nd, and Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.  He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to JTVCC on $1,700.000.00 secured bail.
