Joe...you and I have talked about this so often. This reporter just said "......this is the most extreme example of what people will do when they are hungry". Hell NO! Joe this is no where the most extreme example of what people will do. This is only 4 friggin days!! It will get progressively worse with each passing day until relief gets there. I can't say it enough. Prepare for yourselves!. It doesn't take a disaster of biblical proportions to change the way you live. Winter is coming. An ice storm could do more to interrupt power than Sandy. Will these people be ready? NO! they will bitch and complain that the government isn't doing enough. Are they blind or just stupid? Be ready. It isn't that difficult. It's a state of mind!
Bloomberg is diverting food, generators, police and any other type of rescue worker FROM relief to these people TO the NYC Marathon. Despicable.
10:43. You can only prepare for so much. Many of these peoples whole houses washed away. How do you prepare for that. People in these areas need much more help than they are getting. Get off your self righteous high horse. Put yourself in their place. Could have been you. Everyone birches about this country but one of the biggest things destroying it is people having no compassion and thinking only of themselves. No more neighbors helping each other. Have you been to Chrisfeild right in your own back yard to help with food or water or clothing or clean up. I'm sure not as you seem to be to busy judging others.
Obviously you have not been to "Crisfield" either...
Excuse me. I am disabled so could not go but have sent donations and care packages with others.
My high horse? Hmm. I put away money in the event I had to leave the area. I have a credit card that I use for nothing other than emergencies. I haven't used it in years but to keep the account open. I prepare in ways most don't think of. 12:50 what have you done to prepare for yourself? You say you're disabled...fair enough. What provisions have you made for yourself? You may need to do something. Do you expect others to provide for you? The people in Crisfield were hit hard. Sure enough. They live in 100 year flood plain. Did they have FEMA flood insurance? I hope they did because that is part of preparing. If they are renters, did they have a plan to evac? If not, they failed to plan. Failing to plan is planning to fail. I fell sorry for them but they failed themselves in many ways. Hard? no....true.
