Getting Kids Out Of The House Just Got Easier: Summer Jobs For Teens Hit 6-Year High

An allowance? Who still gets an allowance these days? It seems teens will have plenty of opportunities to make their own cold hard cash this summer, as a new report says the amount of 16- to 19-year-olds landing jobs is off to its strongest start since 2006.

I wish there were more jobs for kids age 14 & 15, especially boys (many girls babysit). They're too old for summer camps but not old enough to "work" but many are more than capable workers... Many local farmers won't use them because of risks with the kids working side by side with migrant workers, etc... Any ideas?

That hilarious because I have seen many reports on this blog actually saying how the whole summer job thing is down the tubes with the lack of jobs. It is funny how the media tends to put thier own spin on everything.
