TREND IS NOT YOUR FRIEND

The price of gas at the station near my house was $3.53 this morning. That is up about $0.20 in the last two weeks. Prices are 10% higher than last January. They are 24% higher than they were in January 2010. They are 97% higher than they were in January 2009. I’m sure glad Bernanke assures us that inflationary pressures are non-existant. If you don’t believe my figures, check it out yourself:

Trends are an unavoidable part of life.Trend and change have virtually the same definition in the economic realm. Some we have control over and some we don't.In re to the aforementioned we do not,but optimistic folks realize that the current trend will soon change direction.
