Attorneys say Spicer's killer denied fair trial
The appeal process has begun for the man convicted of fatally shooting Georgetown Patrolman Chad Spicer. Defense attorneys say Derrick Powell did not receive a fair trial and his death sentence is unwarranted.
Superior Court Judge T. Henley Graves issued a death sentence for Powell, formerly of Cumberland, Md., May 20, 2011. Police say Powell shot Spicer near the intersection of North King and Rosa streets in Georgetown after a brief car chase Sept. 1, 2009.

Powell and his attorneys can bite me. How can one defend a creature who kills with malice, and without guilt? I guess Casey Anthony didn't receive a fair trial either because of all the publicity? Despicable.
I know this boy from back when and grew up with his family. No one knows what actually happened and the Police reports are the LAST thing I would beleive. No memtion of police brutatily?? Yea, they left that out of the story I guess. Get your story straight. Killing him does NOTHING for the life already lost, which indeed is tragic.
those that are against D.P can bite me straight up you never lived his ife so don't talk bout what you don't know ..but you will never hear bout how he was beaten by the police but you are ok with that. derrick is more then my friend he is my brother.and you wasn't there so if you didn't witness it don't invent it with your mouth
