any wonder the "eastern shore" doesn't want to be a part of "the socialist republic of maryland"...
They lost me when I read they think O'Malley is NOT a tax and spend liberal. Of course he is - just look around at all the fees and taxes, etc. he has installed since his first term began.
In fact one of the first things he did was increase the sales tax from 5 to 6%.
Of course, calming down I realize this book is written by professors who by nature are liberals themselves.
The only times this state flourshed was when Gov Shaffer and Gov Ehrlich was in office.
