Walmart Greeter Asks For Receipt, Customer Punches Her In The Face

On Christmas Eve in Batavia, N.Y., an elderly Walmart greeter asked a 26-year-old customer for the receipt for her electronics purchases. Instead, the customer allegedly punched her in the face and tried to flee. A mob of customers chased her and prevented her car from leaving the parking lot, and she's now in jail, charged with two counts of assault. Here's the unusual part: the customer had receipts for all of her purchases.

don't tell me what entitlement gets you...the right to refuse what the rest must endure. wonder if this was a racial thingy.

Do what I do --- tell them "no". They have security cameras watching the store, plainclothes security roaming the store and watching for theft, and security tags on merchandise. So, after paying for everything, I must endure someone telling me to PROVE I haven't stolen anything? Call the police if you want, but I ain't showing my receipt to anyone. Besides, putting 75 year old women at the door to confront customers is NOT a good idea as far as I'm concerned. The article confirms that.

if you dont like it, dont shop there. i dont understand people like lmclain. this is walmart's rule. if i go to your house and piss on your wall because 'thats how i do it at my house', dontcha think i wouldnt be at your house too much longer and never invited again? same thing with TSA, dont like the rules? make your own airline or dont fly.

I agree with Imclain. You are on Walmart's camera from the time you enter their store until you leave. Don't be stopping and asking me for a receipt when I leave. If that security thing goes off upon leaving, it is not necessarily because someone has stolen something, most of the time it is because the cashier has not done what they are supposed to do like remove a security tag. Retain your cashiers or train them correctly in the first place.

8:44....I suppose when we start having Nazi "checkpoints" on all our highways, you'll be one of the sheep saying "if you don't like it, don't drive, or build your OWN highway." How much intimidation and indoctrination do you think we should put up with? How much should INNOCENT Americans have to go through, considering we photographed hundreds of times a year by public and private security, we can now be "detained" (what a concept!) but NOT arrested, we can be searched without warrant and WITHOUT OUR KNOWLEDGE, we are tracked and under surveillance through our cell phones and computers, our phone calls are monitored, and the list is almost endless when it comes to infringemnt of the rights we have been GUARANTEED by the Bill of Rights. Which apparently doesn't mean much to you....

lmclain, Are you seriously comparing an old lady asking for your receipt on the way out of Walmart (which they only do if you item isn't in a bag) to Nazi checkpoints? There is a big difference between government interference (an entity you can't avoid interacting with) and a corporation like WalMart (which you have a choice to shop at). Get a grip and take off the tin foil hat.

You people are clueless. You deserve to be rounded up and isolated. Just a matter of when.

9:59....other than being one of the brainwashed, did ya read the whole comment section? I responded to 8:44's comment about the TSA and his "if you don't like it then don't fly"...YOU are the one who made the comparison. I never mentioned Wal-Mart at all in that comment. So you read something that wasn't there? I'll take my hat off if you'll learn to read...
