Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release 11-30-11

On November 24, 2011 at 1254 am, a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy stopped a vehicle for swerving on the roadway. Upon contact with the driver the Deputy detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage about the driver’s breath and person. The Deputy identified the driver as Kate Maloney 39 years of age of Ocean City Md. The driver submitted to field sobriety testing and was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving while impaired by alcohol. Ms. Maloney was released pending court.

On November 25, 2011 around 11:30 p.m., A Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy responded to a single vehicle crash on Whiton Road near Porters Crossing Road. An officer from MD Natural Resources Police had come upon the crash while on patrol and found a 2010 Jeep Wrangler had failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and crashed into a guard rail. When the Deputy arrived he observed the driver of the crashed vehicle, Christopher Dorsey 40 years of age of Hagerstown Md., appeared to be intoxicated. Mr. Dorsey refused to perform field tests and was subsequently arrested. Mr. Dorsey was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and released pending trial.
