200 Arrested As Cops Raid Occupy LA Camp

LOS ANGELES - Police in Los Angeles and Philadelphia stormed Occupy Wall Street encampments in both cities Wednesday, demanding protesters leave demonstration sites that had become two of the movement's largest after evictions upended others across the country.

Dozens of officers in riot gear flooded down the steps of Los Angeles City Hall just after midnight and started dismantling the two-month-old camp two days after a deadline passed for campers to leave the City Hall lawn. The raid had a military precision and officers in helmets and wielding batons moved in and began making arrests after several orders were given to leave the small park.

Ahhh...more distraction and social manipulation. "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"

Joe, do you realize that the individual stories you are posting are small pieces of a large puzzle? When it's finished, the big mosaic will be very, very frightening. So many pieces have been put together here so far that if we stop for a moment and step back, we can see what it will look like when it's done. Unfortunately there are those among us that are creating distractions that stop us from doing that. Thanks for going out there and getting the pieces for us. I hope you see them for what they are as well. I hope you are getting ready for what's coming.

And the problem is what? Several hundred people broke the law, failed to obey several lawful orders to leave and were arrested. Great job by the police in this non-story.

America is going down the path that woz once 1930's Germany. Big unemployment numbers,(they blamed the jews) crooked banks, (they blamed the jews whom ran them), corrupt government,(again they blamed the jews), and along came a nut that told the people what they wanted to hear, and wa-la Hitler took over, well America has big unemployment numbers,( we can blame wall st), we have crroked banker, (we know who is at fault there), we have a crooked government, (again we know they all are liers!), so as Americans we have tried to protest peacefully as garenteed to use in our bill of rights, but along comes the GESTOPO police backed by the crooks that got it all started, so we need to do what they did in Libia and other Arab countries this past spring! The time has come for WAR, the have nots against the haves! Be ready folks, it is comming, just read between the lines and watch.

Until this movement defines a mission and supplies a solution they will remain a joke in the eyes of informed Americans. Not one person who believes in this insanity has been able to tell me what they suggest the government do to appease them, besides pay their student loan for them.

That in itself is a joke.

Not one person who believes in this insanity has been able to tell me what they suggest the government do to appease them, besides pay their student loan for them.

They been many reasons and wants stated. You just have not been paying attention. You need to open your mind once in a while and let something in.

Only in America will the masses cheer for the elites and their gorillas (police) who enslave them.

We beg for our own enslavement, and we deserve exactly what we get.

What laws were they breaking?

The right to assembly? Peaceful assembly at that.

Youre a disqustingly mis-informed human being.

Learn before you speak, and PLEASE dont even try to cite anything from the main stream media. Watch the LIVE STREAMS ONLINE. Thats the truth.

Its also no wonder that the police do not allow the media to film what is going on either(which also breaks constitutional laws).

Well, here's your big chance, 2:59. How about you explain exactly what these people want and the rationale behind it. I HAVE been paying attention and these 'Occupy Whatever' jerks have yet to come out with a remotely coherent statement. And I'm all for reasoned dissent - these freaks just aren't it.

Sorry, it's not my job to educate you, and you wouldn't agree with it anyway. There have been numerous articles and t.v. spots outlining what they want changed. I'm not totally sure but I think Joe has even published a few.

You are not for reasoned dissent. Your comments prove that. You view them in a certain way and I don't think anything is going to change your stubborn ways.

As I write, two hundred young people, with sleeping bags, suitcases and even folding chairs, are still camping out all night and day outside of NBC on public sidewalks – under the benevolent eye of an NYPD cop – awaiting Saturday Night Live tickets, so surely the camping is not the issue. I was still deeply puzzled as to why OWS, this hapless, hopeful band, would call out a violent federal response.

That is, until I found out what it was that OWS actually wanted.

The mainstream media was declaring continually "OWS has no message". Frustrated, I simply asked them. I began soliciting online "What is it you want?" answers from Occupy. In the first 15 minutes, I received 100 answers. These were truly eye-opening.

The No 1 agenda item: get the money out of politics. Most often cited was legislation to blunt the effect of the Citizens United ruling, which lets boundless sums enter the campaign process. No 2: reform the banking system to prevent fraud and manipulation, with the most frequent item being to restore the Glass-Steagall Act – the Depression-era law, done away with by President Clinton, that separates investment banks from commercial banks. This law would correct the conditions for the recent crisis, as investment banks could not take risks for profit that create kale derivatives out of thin air, and wipe out the commercial and savings banks.

No 3 was the most clarifying: draft laws against the little-known loophole that currently allows members of Congress to pass legislation affecting Delaware-based corporations in which they themselves are investors.

When I saw this list – and especially the last agenda item – the scales fell from my eyes. Of course, these unarmed people would be having the shit kicked out of them.

Here are a few reasons that can readily be found. DO your own search and step out of the dark.
