Georgetown Man Seriously Injured In Crash

Location: Northbound US Rt. 113 at Wood Branch Road, Georgetown, DE

Date and Time of Occurrence: Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 4:50 p.m.

Operator #1: Christopher Dyer, 22, Georgetown, DE
Vehicle #2: 2006 Pontiac G6

Resume:
Georgetown, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a two vehicle crash which left a Georgetown man seriously injured this afternoon.

The incident happened at approximately 4:50 p.m. as Christopher Dyer, 22, was operating a Pontiac G6 and was attempting to cross the northbound lanes of US Rt. 113 in an eastbound direction at the intersection of Wood Branch Road, in Georgetown. Dyer entered into the path of a 1999 Plymouth Voyager which was being operated by Donis Ubiel-Perez and which was traveling in the right hand lane of northbound US Rt. 113. The Voyager then struck the passenger side door of Dyer’s vehicle.

Christopher Dyer was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Beebe Memorial Hospital where he was stabilized. He was then flown to the Christiana Hospital where he is being treated for serious but non life threatening injuries. A passenger in Dyer’s vehicle, Abigail Richardson, 19, of Harrington, DE was also transported from the scene by EMS and transported to the Beebe Memorial Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries.

Donis Ubiel-Perez was not injured; however, two passengers in his vehicle suffered minor injuries and were treated and released. The names of the injured passengers were not known at the time of this release.

This crash remains under investigation at this time.
