Is the backpedaling by banks on debit card fees a sign of growing consumer/internet power?

could be; but understand businesses of anykind will make the profits from somewhere else in their business.

no need to be in business if you don't make a profit. the risks and the "hassle" from the government aren't worth it anymore.

11:06 we're not talking about companies that are barely squeaking by. Bank of America made over $6 billion last quarter alone. Their thanks to their consumer and employee base? Raising fees and cutting jobs.

Yes it is!!They listened this time tickles me when the consumer has the last say.

Yes. There would be no reason for voluntarily giving up the fee increases. If no one "called them on it," they would just continue to exploit the customer.

Of course not. They found it in their hearts to voluntarily rescind the fee because they realize that people needed a break from ripped off.

They know the american people have no real power. They are just throwing us a bone to make us feel good and then they will stick it to us somewhere else when we are not looking.
