(Salisbury, MD) – On Sunday, November 6, 2011 we will once again set our clocks back one hour for the end Daylight Savings Time. As you do so, the Wicomico County Health Department is reminding residents to take two very important safety precautions: 1) change your smoke detector batteries, and 2) check and restock your emergency preparedness kit. Most of us are familiar with changing our smoke detector batteries, but this year, the Wicomico County Health Department Emergency Preparedness Program is promoting the American Public Health Association’s “Set Your Clock, Check Your Stocks” campaign and reminding everyone to refresh their emergency preparedness stockpile before a disaster or cold weather strikes.
“We have learned more than ever in the past few months that emergencies – such as floods, storms, earthquakes, or tornadoes, can strike at any time and when we least expect,” says Brandy Wink, Administrative Deputy Health Officer for Wicomico County Health Department. “Being prepared in advance is a key factor to keeping yourself and family safe. Take the time, when you change your clocks back, to refresh your emergency supply kit and change your smoke detector batteries. Encourage your family, your neighbors and your friends to do the same.”

I thought checking stocks meant that your gun was still sighted in....
Is there something they aren't telling us here?.. or are they?
Haven't you ever heard the term 'stocking up on groceries'?
Stocks in this case means supplies. You must be running low on your aluminum stock.
