A Texas judge is under police investigation after a video, purportedly showing him beating his teenage daughter with a belt, was released on the Internet.
“Aransas County is aware of the video posted on YouTube regarding County Court-at-Law Judge William Adams, and the matter is now under review by the Police Department,” read a statement posted on the county website.

Since this is the punishment they want to give their child for breaking the law they both should be given the same punishment. After someone beats them with a belt they should be locked away in prison where other prisoners can beat the hell out of them.
When a parent strikes a child, it is the parent that is out of control.
When I was a child my dad beat us with the belt also. Back then it was called discipline not child abuse. And all of us kids grew up to respect authority and our elders. We got jobs and worked for what we got. More parents today should discipline their kids and we would have less comvicts and people that think they deserve everything given to them on a silver platter. However I don't agree with child abuse but you should turn a chi;d over your knee and spank them on their bottom to let them know right from wrong. There has not been a child ever born that didn't need a spanking sometime or another. What you end up with is well behaved obedient kids. Bet you haven't seen many of them today,
my dad beat me this way and i grew to hate him. This is not parenting people! you older people who condone his actions are just ignorant. Just because "thats the ways it was done" doesn't make it right. I hope the judge loses his job.
This is horrible, and the mother doing this as well, so sad.
This is not discipline. This is an out of control parent. This is not a spanking. This is a beating. I hope he gets what he deserves. The mother is just as much at fault as he is.

Some people are simply more intelligent and moral than you or your family.
We do not feel the need to spank our children. Physical attack is not parenting. It is abuse.
It is never necessary to spank a child if the child is made to be intelligent and moral through parental guidance and education.

I agree with 5:18 and have taken many a beating like in the video. I deserved most of them and it was not on a first or even third offense, it was after all other attempts had failed. For 7:02 - don't start the more intelligent thing. Both of my parents had doctorate degrees and and I have 2 advanced degrees. Did you see the story above about the 9yo that the cops had to pepper spray...all to familiar story bc people let their brats run rampant and never discipline the precious little darlings.
It turned my stomach to see some of that. That man should be locked away for the rest of his life. Or just turn him loose over here on the shore, either way. That is pure and simple brutality, did the dumb ass not know the camera was there? And he made it to a Judgeship?
The bad part is that he would throw any other parents in jail for doing that same exact thing. But he thinks he is above the law. What a sorry S.O.B...
Wow. BOTH parents are out of control. Big tough man. And who recorded this? The parents? Going to watch it later and have sex? They swear more than a drunken sailor. And this guy is in a position of authority? Or maybe that is the reason. It went to his head like so many others. Bad judge. Bad mother. They both deserve judgement. And maybe a couple of whacks with a belt. While being terrorized and taunted. Unbelievable.

Degrees are fine for your job and making you feel superior to less educated people, but that's where it stops.
It doesn't necessarily make anyone a better person or parent, which you have proved by your statement.
Trying to use education for an excuse to attack children is really despicable. Too many times I have met so called college graduates with little to no common sense. You have just entered that group.

i believe in beating a child as one form of punishment and do not consider it abuse in most cases. i do think some parents go too far when they leaves marks, welts (SP?) etc. I also have an advanced degree, so does my wife. We love our children and all of them love us and say they will raise their children the same way we did them. We used several ways to help mold them to learn right and wrong, not just corporal punishment.
I have never spared the rod with my kids HOWEVER this video is not of a man and woman spanking or punishing their child. This is a video of CHILD ABUSE. I would love to be able to be the one that could show this a--hole what a beating like that feels like. These two should have to endure a beating like they gave this girl.

LOL 8:28 You have no idea what I do for a living but assume that I need a degree to earn a living and I never asserted that I am superior to anyone, but rather was pointing out to the prior post who professed to be more intelligent than others is not always true. What is next? Are you going to say that I must be a come here person, NO. None of my family members have had any negative law enforcement contact. Can you say the same? I attribute discipline, education, and an intact family unit to raising responsible adults and not future criminals.
HEY 5:18 and 7:59! It's time to WAKE UP because this is the 21st Century NOT the 1st. These parents deserve to be beaten worst than they beat their child and thrown in jail forever. If you did the same to your children 5:18 and 7:59, you people deserve the same treatment as well and then some for admitting it!
This is a great example of why our country is so F-ed up. It's because children's parents are ignorant and abusive savages and then their children grow up to be the same and then their grandchildren grow up to be the same and then their great-grandchildren grow up to be the same and then their great-great-grandchildren grow up to be the same and so on and so on.
This serious issue needs to be nipped in the bud and dealt with asap in order to create a more civil & peaceful society in the U.S. The reason so many children are so uncivil and F-ed up in this country is not their fault, it's their parents faults!!!
Also 5:18, elders who act like pre-historic barbarian animals like this are not deserving of authority or respect whatsoever by children, or anyone else for that matter!
