Gov. Martin O'Malley vowed Tuesday to renew his stymied push for building wind turbines off Maryland's Atlantic Coast but said he's not sure yet what type of government incentive he'll ask lawmakers to approve for the industry next year.
A top Obama administration official, meanwhile, told attendees at an offshore wind conference in Baltimore that their industry stands "at a crossroads," creeping closer to being ready to build the first massive turbines off the Atlantic coast but running into significant political resistance toward continuing government incentives.

Iam sure O'Malley would push for wind power being a worthless windbag himself
If it was commercially viable, govt. incentives would not be necessary.
Is it really asking too much that people comment on the focus of the post and not TRY to be cute with a putdown of the governor? I guess that is too cerebral for this group. I would ask how we pay for wind and what will the impact be for jobs.
Your are probably right 9:48 but jobs for Maryland will not improved until the "Worthless Governor" is out of office
Ditto 9:46. If it could turn a profit private industry would be clamoring for the permits and creating jobs. The mere fact that this is not happening tells us that it would just be another tax on everyone.
I am all for puting MOM off shore.
I wonder what kind of new tax we will need to fund windmills.
