OCPD RECEIVES GRANT AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING DRUG ENFORCEMENT INITIATIVE

The Ocean City Police Department recently was the proud recipient of a $5,000 cash award from the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI) for its “Outstanding” work in the field of prescription drug abuse enforcement. The grant is made possible through funding provided by Purdue Pharma pharmaceuticals in Stamford,Connecticut.

For several years the OCPD Criminal Investigations Division’s Narcotics Unit, has been aggressively pursuing “drug diversion” (illegal prescription drug) investigations for fraud, illegal distribution and abuse. As a result the OCPD has been awarded a total of $32,000 in grants over the past four years from NADDI/Perdue Pharma to help continue to be able to fund these types of illegal drug investigations.

The OCPD would like to thank the National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators (NADDI) and Purdue Pharma pharmaceuticals for all their support in helping to fund these types of investigations.
