Ohio Mom Who Lied To Get Kids Into Neighboring School District Gets Reprieve

Ohio Gov. John Kasich reduced the charges against a mother who lied about her residency to send her children to school in another district, saying the punishment didn't fit the crime.

Kelley Williams-Bolar was convicted in January of two felony counts of tampering with records for using her parents' address so she could send her daughters to Copley-Fairlawn City Schools without paying tuition. She lived in public housing in Akron at the time and said she didn't want to leave her daughters home alone after school.

Of course the article fails to mention the intense pressure the NAACP was also putting forth on the guy to reduce her crimes.

Who can blame her for wanting her children to attend a better school? I am so jealous of Ohio--John Kasich is the kind of governor Maryland needs.

It's a good thing the law doesn't investigate all the liars in Wicomico County! Tons of families here lie about their residence or their, ahem, "Babysitter" to get their kids in the school they desire.
