Auditor: AACC Broke Law By Overspending

College says $2.4M discrepancy benefited students

Anne Arundel Community College broke state law when it exceeded its fiscal 2010 budget by $2.4 million, the county auditor said yesterday.

County Auditor Teresa Sutherland pointed out the violation in a letter to County Executive John R. Leopold and County Council members last week. Sutherland said the college spent more on financial aid than the $32 million the council authorized for the Auxiliary and Other Fund.
