Man Drowns, Motorists Stranded As Rain Swamps Area

County firefighters and police rescued several motorists stranded on flooded roads Wednesday and a 45-year-old man drowned as heavy rainfall swelled waterways to dangerous levels across much of Anne Arundel County.

More than 30 roads were closed this morning after several days of heavy rain, posing challenges for the morning commute. Rain was expected to continue today as the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee moved out of the area.
