GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY TO DELIVER KEYNOTE ADDRESS ON TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11

Will attend “Ten Years After 9/11: Building a Prepared and Resilient Maryland” symposium

ANNAPOLIS, MD Governor Martin O’Malley will deliver the keynote address at the University of Maryland’s “Ten Years After 9/11: Building a Prepared and Resilient Maryland” symposium.

The Governor, joined by University of Maryland Center for Health and Homeland Security (CHHS) Director and University of Maryland law professor Michael Greenberger, Senator Ben Cardin and Congressman Elijah Cummings, will deliver the keynote address at an event focused on how September 11^th changed the way we think about disasters and the safety of citizens, first responders and critical infrastructure, and the progress made since September 11^th in Maryland.  

The symposium, hosted by CHHS and the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security, will feature panel discussions with Baltimore City Police Commissioner Fred Bealefeld, Maryland Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene Dr. Joshua Sharfstein, Maryland Emergency Management Agency Executive Director Richard Muth, Community and Regional Resiliency Institute Warren Edwards, Maryland State Police Superintendent Marcus Brown, and State Interoperability Director Ray Lehr.
