Dewey Beach — Diane Hanson will continue to serve as mayor of Dewey Beach. Commissioner Anna Legates, who received more votes than any other candidate in the Sept. 17 election, nominated Hanson for the position.
In a Sept. 24 town council meeting, Legates and Commissioner Joy Howell, who had both been sworn in with Hanson moments before, and Commissioner Marty Seitz voted to approve Hanson as mayor for a second term. Hanson gladly accepted the nomination.
