Son Of Former D.C. Mayor Pleads Guilty In Drug Case

WASHINGTON (AP) - The son of former District of Columbia Mayor Marion Barry has pleaded guilty to drug charges.

Marion Christopher Barry pleaded guilty in D.C. Superior Court on Wednesday to possessing marijuana and PCP. Police found the drugs in his apartment after responding to a report of a fight there in May. Prosecutors say they won't ask for more than six months in jail.

Police say the 31-year-old Barry jumped out his window and ran when officers arrived.

He should run for office now. He certainly has all the requirements to bemayor of DC. The papers call it a conviction. His dad calls it a "campaign stop".

If his dad was set up or not, he was mayor of D.C. and still chose to hire a prostitute and go to a motel to SMOKE CRACK and engage in sex with that protitute! I don't think many were shocked that a politician, ANY politician, would be engaged in clandestine sexual activity, but almost all were disgusted that he would be in a motel smoking crack like some street junkie!

Tal - always thought nuts could bounce a little when falling; it's rotten fruit that falls, goes "splat" not far from the tree. This is a fine example.

10:43,

Were you making a statement or asking a question? A statement should have been written "He was set up, too." If you meant it to be a question there should have been a question mark,(?), at the end of your comment.

It is not suprising, however, that anyone defending the Barrys' drug activities is illiterate.

2:01,

Good one! I'm sure he bounced a little, but he didn't go far. Now those around him are hoping he doesn't roll.
