Woodland Ferry Resumes Full Service Starting August 1

Seaford -- The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) announced that the Woodland Ferry will return to full service today, Monday, August 1, 2011. DelDOT appreciates motorists' patience as we initially returned the ferry to limited service over the last week.

The ferry Tina Fallon will be accepting vehicles for crossing of the Nanticoke River from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., seven days a week, except for Thursday mornings when it does not operate due to regular maintenance.

Further, the ferry will not conduct crossings during periods of excessively high and low tides. Tides at the Woodland Ferry crossing on the Nanticoke River can vary by as much as four feet at certain times of the year.

Please note that the advance electronic warning signs will still be used at critical detour points in the event of ferry closures in order to provide the opportunity for motorists to take alternate routes.
