Driver Survey To Be Taken On US Route 301

Motorists will be asked to voluntarily give information about their usage of US Route 301

Middletown -- On Tuesday, August 2, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., motorists along US Route 301 will be asked to volunteer some information about their usage of the road, announced the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT).

The interviews will help transportation planners gain current information about the travel patterns of vehicles entering the state on this corridor. This information will allow DelDOT to make informed decisions about local and regional transportation improvements.

Motorists traveling northbound on US Route 301 will be diverted into the Weigh & Inspection station located just north of the Delaware/Maryland Stateline for a brief, voluntary interview. Signs and cones will be placed on US Route 301 directing motorists to the interview location and Delaware State Police will help to direct traffic and will ensure that traffic delays remain minimal throughout the day.

Any delays from this survey will be less than five minutes.

In case of inclement weather or any other unforeseen event, the traffic survey will be postponed until later in the week.

Sample questions include:

- How many times a week do you travel this road?
- Would you classify your trip as work, shopping, recreation, or other?
