...thgat all the info you got? I've seen places with sold signs on them many times - only to go back on the market because deal fell through. Has C & C got the money in hand yet? Ain't sold 'till money crosses hands.
Real shame sold for $19 a square foot. That is not a benefit to downtown properties, it will just drag down property values. Maybe if our wonderful mayor would start cleaning up downtown and work with potential developers the revitalization of downtown Salisbury might be a reality.
Team Gillis represented the Buyer in the purchase of this 7,700 sq ft office building in Downtown Salisbury. The buyer has plans to redevelop the building for mixed-use, allowing for 2500+/- Sq Ft of office space and four (4) resiential apartments. Currently avialable are thrid floor executive offices starting at $185/month. The property was bought for $19 PSF.
Call me stupid but I do not understand why all these cities/towns are spending money (basically grants and/or low interest loans)to revitalize a dead zone. Most town centers are now offices and apartments.
Since I was a wee lad, Princess Anne has spent and spent and what do they have to show for it. Empty store fronts and apartments rented out to the trash of the town. If the despensary moved out of downtown P A what would be their drawing card?
Things and times change, downtowns are a dying bred. Salisbury get use to it. Stop throwing taxpayer's money away. If prople are so gung-ho to bring downtowns back to life, let them use their own money. All these giveaway programs should be cut, in turn that would save the Treasury a good chunk of change.
There's the biggest problem downtown, apartments, that is what created most of the crime for PA, students rentals, which increased buglaries, drugs, and student we're more likily to be the victim from the locals crimnals. Also, they brough nothing to the area since it was short term 4 yr rentals, graduate then leave, no money being spent except for the landlord. You need to attract businesses and not lawyers.

Sure hope no one is expecting downtown to be anything more than office space and residential. Boring. More lawyers probably.
