Some House Republicans are launching a new salvo in the light bulb wars. They want to repeal 2007 legislation outlawing standard incandescent light bulbs in favor of compact fluorescents. Because they use less electricity to produce light, the fluorescents are seen by environmentalists as the wave of the future. Texas Representative Joe Barton says Americans should be able to buy any kind of light bulbs they want. He'll have an uphill legislative battle. Democrats on the Energy and Commerce committee oppose the repeal.

These two groups cant agree on anything. In a time when we need our leaders to show leadership they act like first graders. Its time to start acting like Ladies and Gentlemen and not like babies. Do what is good for the American people and not what is just good for you and your party or Im gonna take my ball and go home.
I've stocked up on the incandescent light bulbs. I am not interested in using the flourescents.
1) The cost a lot more
2) You don't get even close to natural light with them.
3) I don't believe they last as long as they say they do and therefore would cost me MORE money!
Another government sham!
Get rid of this legislation, it is NOT good for America, and it never was! Wonder which politicians made money off of it????
Patriotic Americans switched to L.E.D. bulbs long ago.
Patriotic Americans . . . ?
We used to be free to make these decisions ourselves. Why use LED filled with mercury, when you can use old fashioned bulbs that don't pose an environmental risk when they break?
Get real. We live in a Corporate Facist Dictatorship. Corporate interests are all that matter in Amerika.
