TROOPERS ARREST COUPLE ON OBSTRUCTING AND HINDERING CHARGES

On March 21, 2010 at 10:25 am, A Trooper from the Salisbury Barrack of the Maryland State Police was at Talbot Apartments in Pittsville attempting to contact a subject in reference to an open warrant. Upon knocking on the apartment door for sometime, Troopers were able to hear children inside of the residence however no one would answer the door. After speaking with the manager of the apartment complex, Troopers were eventually able to make contact with subjects inside. Troopers took Christopher Edward Cooper, 33, of Pittsville into custody on an outstanding bench warrant and also charged him with obstructing and hindering. Troopers also arrested Jennifer Paige Bradford, 32, of Pittsville, and charged her with obstructing and hindering. Both Cooper and Bradford acknowledged that they knew the police were at their door with the intent to serve the warrant on Cooper. Both Cooper and Bradford were transported to WCDC where they are awaiting a hearing with a commissioner.

They have no obligation what so ever to open that door, regardless of whether they have an ARREST warrant or not. If they had a search warrant, that would be different. Ever hear of the 4th amendment? This is another example of over zealous young cops making bad arrests. What a joke of an arrest. This will not go anywhere. I would sue the hell out of the MSP for this!

Family?
What an idiotic thing to say. This is exactly why cops cannot do their jobs. He was a wanted fugitive! They had an arrest warrant… Liberal! gotta be.

Better read up on the law or go back to training an arrest warrant along with a valid address or up to date information allows officers to search a residence for the body of the wanted person.

I dont know where these sidewalk lawyers get this information about needing a search warrant. If you are a cop your are a do nothing (ROD).

811 your also an IDIOT

If your another cop then you should have sense enough to know that all information about a case does not get released to the public to protect the case.

Think before you make yourself look stupid.

8:11, Please tell me what dept. u work for because I want to make sure u never work with me or any of my people. You are scared, clueless and should quit being a cop, because u are the idiot. U obviously weren't there and if they were let into the apartment, they ABSOLUTELY DO NOT need a warrant. Whatever law book you read, you must have wrote it because you are simply WRONG and should not give advice to any citizen or God forbid any other police officer!!!!!!
