Authorities Plan To Trawl Phone Calls And E Mails For Signs Of “Resentment Toward Government”

Do you resent the government for enforcing Obamacare or raising your taxes? Write about it in an email or talk about it on the phone and you could be placed under surveillance as a potential terrorist, if frightening new technology being shopped to law enforcement agencies is implemented.

Forget pre-crime and get ready for face-crime, Big Brother is set to unleash a new wave of shockingly invasive and Orwellian technology on the American people if a recent symposium in Hamburg New York is anything to go by. Federal agencies, police departments and others were all in attendance to see a demonstration of a system that trawls phone conversations, emails and instant messages to detect “resentment toward government,” alerting authorities to potential “terrorists” who are then placed under surveillance.

The technology was demonstrated to law enforcement officials, mental health professionals, and military representatives at a recent International First Responder-Military Symposium held at Hilbert College.

“A Swiss professor working with a Massachusetts Institute of Technology scientist who heads the Mind Machine Project there outlined how this program operates through computerized scanning of phone calls and electronic messages sent through e-mail and social networking mechanisms,” reports the Buffalo News.

The system works by detecting “resentment in conversations through measurements in decibels and other voice biometrics,” more specifically the emotional spikes that characterize “hatred and deep resentment toward government.”

“As for written transmissions scrutinized by the computer program, it can detect the same patterns of fixation on specified subjects,” states the report.

Our emails, telephone calls and texts are already monitored and "looked into" if certain words, phrases are uttered. This is nothing new. Stupid Americans giving away liberties for "perceived security".

Unless you are a terrorist or subversive you have nothing to worry about. And NSA has been doing this for years, and has any of you had the brown shirts show up at you door? Let them do their jobs! These Feds are fellow citizens trying to keep us safe.

FIRSTthing that comes to mind is "system overload", considering the HUGE resentment of the people....lol...NOW, the second thing that comes to mind is "where are all those people who think (and post here) that it's 'paranoia' on the part of citizens who are alarmed at this kind of thing. They (the government) will be rounding YOU up, too, unless of course, in your undying and unwavering devotion to "the government knows whats best for you" attitude, you continue to satnd on the sidelines and cheer as each an every one of your Constitutional protections is trashed. And I couldn't help but notice--- the MILITARY is present at this conference??? How do you think Thomas Jefferson would have taken this news???

11:36 YOU are one of those people. Since WHEN did 'resentment of government' become a reason to place someone under surveillance? And YOU think this is OKAY?? Just because NSA has been doing it for "years, doesn't mean its okay...The "brown shirts" you speak of ALSO used the exact same reasoning --- "its for YOUR "protection"...we all know NOW that was NOT the reason. Wake up from your delusional dreams. Why not let them search everyone's home and read your mail and place microphones in your car and house, because, after all, if you don't have anything to hide, why not....Did your ancestors help the British soldiers, too????

Every telephone call, land line or cell has been monitored and recorded (I think it was Wallops Island) since the 1970's. It's like our speed cameras that you can watch for someone you know going somewhere that will pass under one that your watching. I've done it, now apply a computer to follow anyone any where and it's a pretty easy stretch to assume anyone, any crime can be tracked. I agree with the guy that said if they come to your door, don't worry if you've done nothing. In addition, be brief with any statement, if unacceptable to them, let your lawyer do your talking.

I won't worry. Until I vote for the wrong guy. Then the new guy will send out the goons in the blue uniforms to hunt down those of us who voted for the other guy.

It happened in Nazi Germany.

I'm sure they weren't worried either.

Wake up! Facism is evil, even if it is dressed in red, white and blue.

3:05...you're living in a dream world too. "if they come to your door, don't worry if you've done nothing"....how did THAT work out for 6 MILLION Jews? AND, if "they" come to your door and you've done nothing wrong, why would "they" be there in the first place? Further, at that point (when "they" come to your door), its a good bet that your lawyer will mean about as much to them as your other "rights", which is exactly zero. I see these posts and continually wonder about people like you --- how much has to occur, i.e. warrantless searches, secret trials, back-scanner searches of houses and cars, jailing reporters, the government taking and storing MILLIONS of photographs of law-abiding citizens in a massive "facial recognition" effort, the Patriot Act (what a misnomer!), electronic eavesdropping (without warrant), and a host of other intrusions, before you START to think that maybe, just MAYBE, something ain't right. Like a prior poster said, "if you aren't paranoid, then you aren't paying attention". How naive can you get??
